I am happy to announce that this month we will be co-sponsoring a presentation by National Geographic Photographer and Explorer, Babak Tafreshi. Babak is “an Iranian-American photojournalist who uses night sky photography and visual storytelling to bridge art and science, culture and nature, and conservation and exploration. Through his work, he inspires us to recognize the universality of the night sky as a unifying roof above all religions, cultures, and countries.”
Babak’s visit is hosted by the Sharmin and Bijan Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Iran and Persian Gulf Studies at Princeton University, and his presentation will take place on campus at Robertson Hall - click here for additional details and directions.
I hope to see you there!
Dave

The night-time face of Earth has changed in the past century. The habitat and behavior of many nocturnal species are largely impacted by our artificial lights. This adventurous journey explores stories around the world and take a deeper look to the Persian Gulf at night in particular.
